I wrote a story entitled, ‘A Letter to The Younger Me.’ Today, during prayerful meditation, I was reminded by you-know-who, my all-time favorite person, about that story and the suggestion to write about a prayer time between Jesus and His older self, God, His Father.

Before I launch into this time between Jesus and God, below are a few facts with which you should fully agree to understand this conversation. Next is the fact that I have chosen the style of dialogue (a conversation between two or more people) to imitate the words spoken between Jesus and God.

The scriptures say that Jesus was the Son of God [1]. God lived in Jesus [2] And in AD 33 (Hebrew year 3793.) He began his ministry on earth [3]. Now and again, Jesus would slip away from the crowds and, on his own, would enjoy a quiet time with His beloved Father. I say beloved because Jesus spoke of His Father in close terms; “the Father and I are one…” Jesus had an intimate relationship with His Father.

You and I will benefit by creating such a relationship with God. One of many ways is to thank God in your prayers for building this relationship between you. In previous teachings, I have alluded to God’s use of our faculties in and through us as humans.

In other words, we apply our minds, tongues, lips, and others while praying. God leaves us to use our minds and bodies, and the Spirit does the rest. Take away your mind and body; you won’t be praying any time soon!

I hope you are not offended by my constant use of references to scripture; there are several reasons for this:
1. For those unfamiliar with the scriptures, finding out for themselves is an opportunity.
2. For those who may query my words, they have a means of checking on their origins.
3. Reading scripture with correct interpretation is drinking from the fountains of living waters.

Lastly, my dialogue does not use inverted commas or text explaining who is speaking. The dialogue itself will explain this. I will not use references in the dialogue as it must be a flow of beautiful, life-giving words.

Let’s go –

My beloved Father; I’m grateful for this time with you. I hear your voice from inside me all day and see the miracles you perform through me, but this is our time—just you and Me.

My Son, you please me in a big way. Your obedience makes it possible for my power to flow through you and touch the lives of many. And as you say, for all the dynamic events that are taking place among my people, this time between us is not only pleasing to me but also a time when you regain your physical and mental strength.

Thanks, Father, for your encouraging words. I long for the day when those I walk among will understand you as I do. They would save themselves so much pain and suffering. They would experience the love, joy, and fullness of knowing you.

I know, I know, my Son. And we both know that the time is here when your desires for them will become reality.

Thank you that the time has come. Thank you for giving me authority over all humanity so I, in turn, could give your people eternal life so that they may come to know you as the one true God. They accept that you sent me to glorify you on earth through my ministry among them.

Son, you are about to experience superior glory, the glory we shared before I created the universe. You have manifested my glory among those I gave you; they have come to know me and keep my word. Because of you, they accept that I sent you, and now their trust is in me.

Thank you, Father. I want to ask you on their behalf to take care of them; I know that when they witness coming events and see me rise to join you, they will be both joyful and distressed. They won’t have me to mother them anymore. So, they will need your protection until they mature and are accustomed to ministering with my Spirit inside them. The world has hated me; as you know, it will also hate them. Just as you sent me, I have sent them out to proclaim your word, and like me, they will need to know they can depend on your Spirit. I thank you, too, that they will love those they minister to, just as you have loved me. They will minister to the needs of our people, all those you gave me, with your love and power.

Certainly, Son, I will do as you ask. I love you.
